Attje Kuiken says goodbye to the House of Representatives

PvdA party leader Attje Kuiken will not return to the House of Representatives after the elections. The Breda politician was in parliament for 17 years.

She announced her departure on X, formerly Twitter. There she says that she will still campaign for the PvdA ‘to shift the course to the left’. The PvdA and GroenLinks will enter the upcoming elections in November.

The leader of the combination will be European Commissioner Frans Timmermans.

The politician was born in Groningen. At the age of ten she moved with her mother to Friesland, where she would later also follow her higher vocational education in Public Administration and Government Management. Only then did Kuiken move south.

To Tilburg, to be precise. At the university there she studied Policy and Organization Studies. After obtaining her diploma, she moved to Breda, where she has lived for more than twenty years.
