Attic fire destroys home in Koekelare: “On arrival the flames were already through the roof”

A serious fire broke out in a semi-detached house in the Ter Heide district in Koekelare in West Flanders on Sunday afternoon. The fire, which started in the attic, spread rapidly and destroyed the roof. The residents were able to get to safety with their dog in time, but their house is uninhabitable.
