The incident happened on Friday around 5.45 pm on bus line 45 in the Oud-Stleiderslaan in Evere. It is still unclear what exactly happened, but the driver was not physically injured. “A number of young people wanted to redress because the driver would not have stopped at their stop when they were waiting for the bus. They would have become verbally aggressive and start spitting. The driver was very impressed by the incident. He was so upset that he was taken to hospital in shock,” said Guy Sablon, spokesman for the STIB.
The Brussels North police zone confirms the incident. “The victim still has to be questioned by the police, further investigation will have to show what exactly happened,” says Audrey Dereymaeker of PolBruNo.
