Crimea governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said the fire was caused by a drone strike by Ukraine. At least ten oil tanks were destroyed in the explosion, according to Ukrainian military intelligence.

Gumenyuk said the explosions caused panic in Crimea, both among the Russian military and the civilian population of the Russian-occupied peninsula.
“There is a lot of fear and that has triggered a large flow of people who are trying to leave Crimea by all possible routes. Even the army, which is stationed in fixed places, is evacuating families,” said Gumenyuk.
