Tennis star Novak Djokovic failed early again and has to continue waiting for his 100th tour title.
At the ATP Masters in Madrid, the Serb surprisingly lost to the Italian Matteo Arnaldi in his opening match, after 1:42 hours Djokovic had to give up 3: 6, 4: 6.
The 37-year-old was back in the Spanish capital for the first time in three years, but could not overcome his crisis there.
Djokovic left in the first game at the previous masters in Monte Carlo in early April.
Before that, he had surprisingly lost in Miami in the final against the Czech teenager Jakub Mensik, but was plagued by an eye infection there. Djokovic was not yet able to win a title this year.
