Triple jump – Wittmann without a chance

Kira Wittmann from Göttingen had no chance of making it into the final in the triple jump on Friday evening (7:35 p.m.). The 23-year-old jumped 13.64 m and was eliminated as 26th in the qualification. Wittmann was almost half a meter short of taking part in the decision of the best twelve jumpers.

Most recently, Kristin Gierisch was a German triple jumper in a World Cup final in London in 2017. The top favorite, on the other hand, didn’t have much trouble: Olympic champion, world record holder and series world champion Yulimar Rojas (Venezuela) secured her participation in the final in her first attempt (14.59).
