At least 10 people have died and several “dozens” have been injured in a shooting at a university in downtown Prague, as reported by the Czech emergency services. The alleged shooter has been “eliminated”, according to the police on the social network X.

“At the moment, I can say that there are 11 people dead at the scene, including the attacker,” Czech emergency services spokeswoman Jana Postova told public broadcaster Czech TV.

Czech media have stated that the incident took place at 3:00 p.m. in the Faculty of Philosophy of the Carolina University of Prague, located in Jan Palach Square, and that teachers and students were ordered to lock themselves in while the police intervened.
