Assize: Alexander Dean will appeal in cassation
Alexander Dean killed his ex-girlfriend Maïlys Descamps (18) and her grandparents Gery Cappon (68) and Marie-José Vanleene (64) on 25 July 2017 in Moere. The night before, he tortured and murdered Jeroen Verstraete (39) in Sint-Amandsberg.
On May 19, he was sentenced to life imprisonment before the Court of Assize in Bruges. But he could not accept that decision and is now filing an appeal in cassation. We will know in the autumn whether the Court of Cassation will accede to his request and whether the entire process must therefore be repeated.
