There is still room for improvement in the Drenthe municipalities, as is clear from the overview. Assen scores a 6.9, closely followed by Tynaarlo with a 6.8, but after that it quickly decreases. Westerveld just got a passing grade (5.9), but all other Drenthe municipalities scored a failing grade, with Coevorden – which has a 2.4 – as the low point. Small consolation is that Coevorden is doing slightly better than last year, with a tenth of a point more.
Ivo Thonon, spokesperson for the MLDS, also believes that there is work to be done in our province. “We think it is no coincidence that Assen and Tynaarlo are the municipalities with a license for the HogeNood app and can add toilets to that app themselves. The fact that Aa and Hunze have moved up two places is great, but the municipality is still always a big fail.”
