The public favorite’s contract ends
Ashley Young and Aston Villa have parted ways again. As the Premier League club announced, the 37-year-old veteran is leaving the “Villans” when his contract expires on June 30th. The full-back returned to Villa from Inter Milan in the summer of 2021. In total, the former England international, who is one of the three oldest players in the league this season, made 247 appearances for the Birmingham club.
The club thanked Young with the words: “The crowd’s favorite was a versatile, experienced and popular member of the team.” He first turned his back on Aston Villa in 2011 and switched to Manchester United for 18 million euros before he left him in the winter moved to Italy in 2020. It is still unclear what will happen next for the 37-year-old.
Aston Villa can confirm that @Youngy18 will be leaving the club upon the expiration of his contract.
