Two currents come together in the world of MO name: it is either Mohammed or Monique. But whatever it is, the informal version of these names makes the company sympathetic in one fell swoop. It is as if you step into a good friend: “Mo!” Immediately familiar and cozy. Mo’s Art Galerie in Doorn, for example, where Monique Negenman signs her paintwork with ‘Mo 9’. Or hairdresser Mo from Weesp. There is no simpler and more effective design on the window. At Kappers it is a common name anyway. Monique van Mo’s Hairway from Veldhoven, for example, has already been voted nicest hair salon in Veldhoven twice: “There are many people who think Mohammed is cutting here, but they see that soon enough.” Then Mohammed Kahn, once worked at KLM but always received so many compliments from his colleagues about the food he took that he went through it under the name Mo’s Kitchen. And Mo’s Place had been a household name in Steenwijk for decades, but Mohamed Hussain has just made the switch to a new business in Havelte. Mohammed from MO-Tallic in Emmeloord, a ‘very strong’ welding company, who did not want to be photographed himself, will, in my opinion, get the prize for the most original find. Although the Wolwinkel van Mo & More from Noordgouwe in Zeeland is also very successful. “In addition to wool, I am selling everything I like, also baskets or teapots, so that is the ‘More’.” For example, Mo can also participate in the category of ‘Stores Met & More behind their name’, but that is for another time.
