‘As bad as Matthijs van Nieuwkerk? Hope not!’

It has caused quite a stir in recent days: the unveiling of RTL News that there was an argument between Mark Rutte and Sigrid Kaag. “During the tantrum, Rutte is said to have even said that she could ‘sink into it’ or similar words. Kaga walked away. An official came to get her bag that she had left behind.”

Drift Frog

Jaïr Ferwerda, Jinek’s reporter, talks to the Prime Minister in his column. “Yes, that’s where he comes in: always cheerful, our own temper frog,” he says in his item from The Hague.

The prime minister then: “Hahaha. Good morning.”

Jaïr: “Drift Frog!”

Mark: “Well, yes…”

‘I say nothing!’

Jaïr: “Well, I mean… Did you really say to Kaag: ‘Fuck it’?”

Mark: “I’m not saying anything about what we’re discussing. It was a very stupid misunderstanding, I also apologized for it and you know: that can happen. The annoying thing is that it comes out, but that sometimes happens.”

VVD prominent Christianne van der Wal in between: “Of course I was party chairman myself and then we would go through the Chamber together. We kind of did that, yes. Delicious!”

Jaïr: “And then swear and slam doors!”

Christianne: “Wow, it’s so much relief! And then you can move on. It also clears up your head nicely.”

Little Matthew

Jaïr then confronts the prime minister with the riot about studio executioner Matthijs van Nieuwkerk: “But now and then you are a little Matthijs van Nieuwkerk or how should we see that?”

Mark, who spoke about this riot with good friend Jort Kelder: “No, I hope not. By the way: I don’t know about Matthijs either, so I won’t say anything about that at all.

Cuddling with Kaag

Jaïr to Sigrid a little later: “Did Mark Rutte indeed say to you: ‘Fuck it’?”

Sigrid: “Hah. Yes! You must ask him that.”

Jaïr: “I asked him, but he said: ‘Yes, everything has been said about that.’”

Sigrid: “Hahaha. That’s right!”

Jaïr finally to Mark: “Then I suggest: give Sigrid Kaag a nice hug.”

Mark laughing: “I’m not going to say anything more about that! That has all been completed. Hi!”
