Arto Nyberg arrived in Venla – This is his work situation now

Arto Nyberg tells Iltalehti what he has heard since the end of his talk show.

The end of Arto Nyberg’s popular program has divided opinions on social media.

Yle’s former anchor-editor Arto Nyberg58, arrived at the Kultainen Venla gala among the last. His talk show, which ended in December, is nominated for talk show of the year.

Nyberg tells Iltalehte very sparingly what he has heard since the end of his program.

– Well, nothing much. A lot of free time: playing hockey and watching football, he says.

Viewers have expressed their disappointment on social media with Yle’s decision to end Nyberg’s program. Some have even said directly that Yle’s decision was a mistake.

Nyberg says that he himself received a lot of similar feedback.

– Yes, it warms you up. I didn’t realize that so many people actually care about it. I have never been stopped on the street as much as in the last two months, the man says.

In October, Nyberg told Iltalehte that he was disappointed by Yle’s decision. What are his thoughts on the matter today?

– Well, go ahead. I haven’t been able to think about it terribly anymore, because it is now a life left behind. Can’t do anything. That I’m on the move with a normal state of mind, Nyberg answers.

Nyberg also told Iltalehti in October that he is looking for a job. Now the presenter says that he has not yet received any job offers since the end of his program.

According to Nyberg, he doesn’t have any jobs, except occasional hosting gigs. Nyberg’s next hosting gig is next week Saturday at the Aleksanteri theater.

– It’s like we’re still on an extended Christmas vacation here. There are no major jobs here now. This has been really nice, he states.

If you win the talk program of the year award, do you feel it will be some kind of wink for Yle?

– I don’t take a stand on that. And I’m not speculating on profit, Nyberg answers.
