An injury that he contracted at the French Open is still a problem for Arthur Fils. That now has consequences.

Due to the injury, France number one has to fit at the third Grand Slam of the year: Arthur Fils will not start at the lawn tournament in Wimbledon. The 21-year-old officially canceled his participation on Saturday.

The background is a back injury that Fils contracted at the French Open. In Paris, a fatigue break in the lower back area had been determined. Time is not enough for a timely recovery until the start in Wimbledon on June 30th.

Fils currently ranks 15th in the world rankings and is the best -placed French force in the men’s torment. Last year he had reached the round of 16 at the classic lawn in London-so far it was his best result at a Grand Slam tournament.
