Longchamp is pleased to announce a new creative project with the furniture designer Pierre Renart. The cooperation is presented as part of the Milan Design Week, the world’s largest design event, from April 7th to 13th, 2025.

This partnership marks an important milestone for Pierre Renart: He works for the first time with a combination of wood and leather and takes part in the Milan Design Week for the first time.

With this initiative, Longchamp continues his longstanding commitment to innovative creative talents.

The connection between Pierre Renart and Longchamp dates back to 2021 when the Maison commissioned furniture in the aesthetics of a Paris apartment in the course of renewing their global boutiques network. At that time, Pierre Renart designed, among other things, variations of his iconic wave couch table for the redesigned boutiques. Now the partnership goes one step further: Renart has designed two exclusive pieces of furniture for the Milan Design Week-a “Banquettewave Cuir (Wave leather bank) and a set of eight” Chaises Ruban “(ruban chairs), which are presented during the event in the Milan Flagship Boutique by Longchamp.

Both designs are made of American walnut wood and are covered with smooth cowhide. They embody the clear, flowing lines characteristic of Pierre Renart. Inspired by the organic forms of nature, the designer brings wafer -thin wooden panels on top of each other and bends to perfect curves – his creations look like they had been shaped in a single flowing movement. “My goal is a work that seems final and timeless – something that you don’t want to add or take away. I try to interpret wood in a completely new way – contrary to its traditional, rather rigid image,” explains Renart.

Working with leather, another natural and lively material, was, according to his own statement, the fulfillment of a long -cherished vision – something he had already experimented with, but that he could never bring to completion until he introduced his project Longchamp. “Leather is a great material to work,” enthuses Renart. “When I met Sophie Delafontaine, she inaugurated me in the world of different leather types and their way of use at Longchamp. It is exciting to incorporate this specialist knowledge into my designs.” The bank is covered in a rich mahogany, while the eight chairs are made in a different color- including Longchamps iconic dark and light green.

From April 7 to May 13, 2025, the two designs will be presented in the Longchamp flagship boutique in the Milanese flagship boutique in Via Della Spiga. The unique Ruban chairs are available exclusively there.
