Presenter Art Rooijakkers from Geldrop immediately stops the news of the day program. Rooijakkers started presenting the program in May, but says there is not in place. Talpa Network announced this on Monday.
“With Open Vizier I started this exciting, new project,” says Rooijakkers in a short explanation. “As it should be with a program in development, it didn’t go without a struggle. But three -quarters years later I have to conclude that the desk of news of the day is not my place. That is a pity, but I tried it.”
A week ago the other regular presenter, Malou Petter, also stepped up. She dropped out for the same reason. The substantive course of the program would not match its journalistic values.
Art Rooijakkers remains connected to Talpa, but it is not yet clear what he will do. The new regular presenter of the News of the Day program will be Thomas van Groningen from Tilburg.
