The emergency services were called to an outdoor fire at Het Mozaïek primary school around 7:30 PM. There is also an after-school care center on Toereppel Street.

A fire had started at the rear of the primary school, in a bin, according to the photographer who quickly arrived at the scene of the incident.

A spokesperson for the fire brigade is talking about ‘pallets’ behind the fence that were on fire. The person who called 911 was on the other side of the road. “A window has cracked due to the heat. That is why there is considerable smoke damage in the school.”

Police are investigating

The rushed fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire fairly quickly. The fire brigade checked the roof for smoldering remains and ventilated.

A police spokesperson reports to NH that they cannot rule out arson. “No one has been arrested yet.” Witnesses are being sought.

The Christmas holidays have started at all primary schools.
