Master Goldsmith Mika Tarkkanen and son Robert met the rapper 50 Cent’s in 2007 during his Hartwall Arena gig.

Mika, who was a fan of the rapper, made him a unique necklace as a gift. 50 Cent was supposed to come to Tarkkanen’s studio to pick up the jewelry later, but he didn’t make it. Koru was left to await his fate.

Like his father, Robert, who is studying to become a master goldsmith, noticed that 50 Cent is coming to Tampere to perform at the Blockfest festival. Now would finally be an opportunity to deliver the long-awaited gift to its recipient.

Robert made a Tiktok video about the jewelry and told its story, and after the video gained attention, it was arranged to hand over the jewelry to 50 Cent.

– I thought I’d try the power of social media and shot a video, Robert says.

Father and son drove from Helsinki to Tampere to bring the jewelry to the rapper before his Blockfest performance.

The jewelry, which contains gold and various precious stones, has a big letter R, which represents the word “respect”.

– Each of us deserves respect and appreciation, and that’s what we wanted to give to 50 Cent with this piece of jewelry, says Mika.

The watchmen gave the jewelry to the rapper’s tour manager, who delivers the jewelry to him.
