According to the Public Prosecution Service, the men are part of a criminal group that committed ten explosive raids in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia and in Swiss cities between mid-2023 and the end of last year.
Seven suspects arrested
Seven suspects were arrested last Tuesday and last Wednesday. Two had previously been arrested, but their arrests had not yet been announced.
During the raid last Tuesday a house on the Sluisvaart in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel was raided. That happened with a lot of fanfare: the police were present with the Quick Response Team and the Forensic Investigation. The Defense Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department was also at the house because there was a suspicion that explosive material might be present.
Bag with aluminum powder
Cash, cocaine, balaclavas and vehicles were seized during the searches. A bag with aluminum powder, which can be used for explosions, was also found in Ouderkerk.
The Netherlands collaborated with Germany, Switzerland and France in the study. According to the Public Prosecution Service, German research showed that the perpetrators were Dutch.
