The acquitted liquidation -waiting Murat K. was arrested last week in a flat on Sint Ignatiusstraat in Breda. His lawyer Jan-Hein Kuijpers confirms this on Tuesday to Omroep Brabant. An arrest team was deployed during the arrest.
A spokesperson for the Public Prosecution Service in Breda says that the suspect was arrested on suspicion of a street robbery. He has since been brought before the examining magistrate and he has decided that the man will be put in custody. That means that he will in any case be stuck for a short time pending further investigation.
Liquidation
Murat K. is no stranger to justice. In 2018, eighteen years in prison was demanded against K. for the liquidation of the 48-year-old Hakki Adnan Yesilkagit in the Mahlerstraat in Tilburg. The victim was shot in his car.
The liquidation is one of the seven murders that were described in 2015 by a witness in the trial surrounding the murder of real estate Willem Endstra. Murat K. would have played an important role in this, according to the witness. For example, he would be part of the criminal organization that was managed by Willem Holleeder and Dino Soerel.
In 2015, K. was also suspected of throwing a hand grenade through a window of a house in Oosterhout. K. was in prison when he was arrested for these crimes. He was acquitted in both cases.
