During the descent in Beaver Creek, the Swiss Arnaud Boisset caused a moment of shock. Now he has spoken out again.

When Arnaud Boisset suddenly fell on the descent in Beaver Creek in the USA, hit his head and landed in the safety fence at high speed, spectators and team employees didn’t suspect anything good. The race was interrupted for 20 minutes. The 26-year-old Swiss was treated and taken to hospital.

The ski racer took to Instagram on Saturday morning and posted a photo of himself from the hospital bed with a thumbs up. He wrote: “I’m fine given the circumstances, I just need some rest.” The Swiss association also announced: “The initial on-site examinations revealed a concussion and bruises on the face and shoulder area. Arnaud will travel back to Switzerland in the coming days for further examinations.”

Late on Saturday evening, the person concerned spoke up again on Instagram. Boisset sits on a couch, appears quite calm and speaks into the camera. Abrasions are clearly visible on the left side of the face. Boisset explains to his fans in French that he lost consciousness for a few minutes during the fall.

The athlete also explains: “I consider myself lucky in my misfortune. The diagnosis is a severe concussion and bruises on the left side.” Boisset also thanks his fans for their support and messages to him.
