An army helicopter made a precautionary landing this morning at Ees. According to spokesperson Elida Abma of the Defense Helicopter Command, the Dutch Apache got into trouble due to a technical defect. One of the windows of the helicopter was killed.
“How this could happen has yet to be investigated. The technical service is now on the way to see if the problem can be solved on the spot or whether it should be resolved in another way,” explains Abma.
According to the spokesperson, nobody was injured in the incident: “The crew is okay.” The helicopter of the army is still in the pasture on the Oosterweg in Ees. The police have closed the road. It is still unclear how long the helicopter will remain at the village.
The combat helicopter is involved in the large -scale army exercise Falcon Spring. That exercise started on May 12 and continues until 23 May. 1500 soldiers and twenty helicopters participate.
