Christopher Nolan has nothing to do with it – it’s a new Uwe Boll film.

Armie Hammer has been accused of sexual assault and cannibalism in the past, which led to the actor not getting any roles after “Call Me By Your Name”, “The Social Network” and “Lone Ranger”. But after the 38-year-old was away from the window for a while, he was now able to get a new job in front of the camera. The US mime will star in Uwe Boll’s next work. The title: “The Dark Knight”.

Filming starts in January

It is so certain that Armie Hammer will appear as the protagonist in Boll’s thriller that filming can begin in Croatia in January. As for Hammer’s part, Variety reports that he will portray Sanders, “who takes justice into his own hands and hunts down criminals. While his crusade makes him a social media sensation and a hero in the eyes of the public, the local police chief sees him as a threat to society and wants to take him down.”

Nothing to do with Nolan

According to executive producer Michael Roesch, anyone who thinks of Christopher Nolan’s Batman version with Christian Bale in the lead role is on the wrong track when they think of “The Dark Knight”. He told Variety: “Our film is very different from Chris Nolan’s film of the same name, so there is no risk of confusion.”

It is not known when Boll’s “The Dark Knight” will be shown to the public and who else will be involved in the film.

What came before: Accusations of cannibalism and abuse

It all started with the negative headlines surrounding Armie Hammer in 2021, when excerpts from sexually charged text messages between Hammer and various women appeared online. At the time, the actor was married to entertainment journalist Elizabeth Chambers (although the couple divorced in 2023). During this period, his ex-girlfriend Efrosina Angelo also made public the accusation that he allegedly raped her in 2017.

Two other women also later came forward to claim that Hammer had emotionally abused them. One of the two women continued to claim that Hammer told her expressed a desire to cook and eat her ribs. Although he himself admitted that he had treated the women badly emotionally, the statements she repeated in public were consensual sadomasochistic agreements.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office declined to indict Hammer in 2023 due to lack of evidence.
