Arjen Lubach refuses to give an interview to the written press now that his daily program on NPO 1 is coming up. “He only wants to stick to promotional films on television.”
The daily programs Nieuwsuur, Beau and VI Today will have a formidable competitor from next Monday: the new program De Avondshow by presenter Arjen Lubach. There is currently a promotional film on television, in which Paul Witteman plays the leading role (see below).
Very funny
Angela de Jong was in a tear because of that video, she reveals in the AD Media podcast† “I thought he was very funny! I found him really funny. I went in with butter and sugar. I liked it very much.”
AD journalist Marcus den Blanken says: “I already understood that he was indeed going to do promos, because I asked him if he wanted an interview or if we could visit the set, but he really just doesn’t do anything in terms of written press. I was told: ‘There are a lot of nice promos coming up!’ So I think I can make you happy that we’re going to get things like this.”
Huge boost
Fellow journalist Dennis Jansen expects high viewing figures for Arjen Lubach’s De Avondshow, which will be broadcast daily at 10.10 pm on NPO 1. “I think that will change something. It’s someone who joins us at 10:15 PM. I think that will be at the expense of Beau or VI.”
Angela: “It could just be a huge boost for Op1. They are now very much halfway the top 25 every time.”
