The niece of Albert Verlinde, who is at the helm of RTL Boulevard, has made a historic blunder by cutting Linda de Mol criticism from the broadcast. This Jorien van der Plas has not gone through the motions and that is now starting to reflect negatively on RTL 4. After all, we have not heard TV boss Peter van der Vorst speak of it with any shame.
Hand above head
Youp van ‘t Hek can only draw one conclusion: his former NPO colleague Arjen Lubach is moving to a TV station where they consider censorship very normal. “I now understand that Albert Verlinde has kept his hand over his censoring niece,” he writes in his NRC column.
The comedian strongly criticizes Jorien. “As editor-in-chief of RTL Boulevard, she edited a piece about the untouchable Dutch television virgin Linda de Mol. About her and her Dirty Jeroentje, who nowadays only seems to send his dick pics to Linda herself. Every disadvantage has its advantage.”
Poor Arjen
What a situation, says Youp. “Now I keep thinking about Arjen Lubach. He will work at RTL next year. Does he get that good director Peter van der Vorst on the phone every day and is he then ordered to delete that joke about Unilever? That costs advertisers.”
The comedian wonders what Arjen will ‘still think’ of Peter. “And whether he can also make a joke about Albert Verlinde’s niece.”
Incestious
What does Youp actually think of Albert’s niece now being the head of Boulevard? “The fact that that niece is high up in the raunchy gossip tree is so wonderfully incestuous. Is it wise to help your family find a job?”
At least not if you are Vladimir Putin’s blundering niece, he continues. “Will she be fired? No, she falls out of a hotel window in a very chic way. Three-storey at the back. In short: our country is not too bad.”
