Australian swimmer Ariarne Titmus ended his professional career at the age of 25.
His decision had a great impact both in his country and in the swimming world. Because Titmus has been aiming for new victories at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics for a long time. However, the star athlete changed his mind and said goodbye to his swimming career, saying, “I don’t feel that fire inside me anymore.”
Titmus, who won 4 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals in the Olympics, explained his decision with the following words: “I have always focused on my goals in the pool. But now I want to live a little and spend time with my loved ones. I know I made the right decision.”
Titmus, who left behind two giant names such as Katie Ledecky and Summer McIntosh in the 400-meter freestyle race in Paris 2024, had his name written in golden letters in the competition known as the “final of the century” with that race.
Titmus, who moved away from the pool to rest after the Olympics, never returned to the races even though he wanted to regain energy.
