Three young people, identified as Brenda del Castillo, Morena Verdi and Lara Gutierrez they were killed in a triple femicide, the fact was developed in a house in Florencio Varela. The two 20 -year -old women and the adolescent, only 15 years old, from La Matanza, were violently tortured and executed by hitmen of a clan linked to drug trafficking, led by a Peruvian criminal known as “Little J”. One of the hypotheses that researchers handle is that the bloodthirsty act was made at the request of the mafia chief to discipline their lieutenants, transmitting live executions through a private Instagram channel.
The fact, which has generated great commotion at the national level, exposes gender violence and the problem of drug trafficking in Buenos Aires. Just weeks after the media legislative elections, the case of triple femicide puts in a tapete the harsh reality in which youth coexist with drug trafficking, prostitution and marginality in electoral times. In the political scenario of the province of Buenos Aires, the candidate for national deputy who heads the La Libertad Ballow progresses is José Luis Espert. Four years ago, the journalist Rodis Recalt of Magazine News gave details of an investigation in which the liberal economist was linked to the businessman Fred Machadoaccused of fraud, washing and drug trafficking in the United States; in his first proselytizing tour of 2019.
Then the note published by News of May 13, 2001 entitled: “José Luis Espert and the narcoliberal scandal.”
The economist’s political career José Luis Espert It was stained by one of the most harmful scourges of humanity: drug trafficking. This story has its origin in 2019, when Espert decided to debut in the world of politics with a presidential candidacy. At that time an Argentine businessman approached him, based in Miami and with strong investments in Guatemala. His name is Federico “Fred” Machado And on April 17, he fell prisoner because a Texas Court, United States, requested his international capture, being investigated in a case for drug trafficking, money laundering and fraud, among other accusations.
The plot. To understand the Espert case, this story should be separated into two parts. On the one hand is the economist’s political adventure and how he carried out, and on the other, the life and investments of Machado.
Espert arrived in politics as a representative of liberalism with a book under his arm entitled “The complicit society”, that rehearses the hypothesis that part of the problems of Argentina are due to the fact that citizens prefer to shut up in the face of structural problems within the political, trade union and entrepreneur. “It is more comfortable to think that nothing can change because he governs who governs, and promises what he promises, the structure of the country is this and no one can do anything about it. It is more comfortable to think that, but it is a lie,” he said in the introduction of the book, managing to seduce the disenchanted of politics and making his way to the presidential career.
But he quickly encountered the first problem that any politician has: how is an election finance? To participate in politics, a structure is needed and any structure costs money. In the case of a presidential candidacy, the country needs to be toured, you have to print tickets, but above all you need a political party registered in electoral justice. When all this is lacking, there are those who offer solutions and this is where little -known characters live at play that live from having political parties willing to put them on sale every two or four years for fleeting candidates who prove luck. The one that offers the party structure knows that the candidate will never win, but on the way you can earn a lot of money, because the State, by law, is obliged to guarantee each candidate money for the campaign and the impression of an entire register of ballots to distribute throughout the country. In 2019, the party they were renting to Espert received around 1.5 million dollars for these two concepts between the Paso and the Generals.

According to the accountability of sister, the ballots were printed by a Brazilian used in a man -called logistics company José Bonacci, The owner of the party “Unite for freedom and equality”, the seal with which the economist competed. Prebendary businesses, I would say.
The patron. But the electoral contribution is not only public. There is also a private contribution and it is in this part of the story where the figure of “Fred” Machado appears, who decided to support Espert with one of his personal planes to travel inside and also with a 4×4 truck to mobilize in shorter distances. Among the contributions of Machado there would also have been money. In the affidavit of campaign income, this is not registered.
Machado is known in Guatemala for supporting politicians. He had good ties with the previous president Jimmy Morales, of whom he achieved mining concessions, which today are part of the headache that has him stopped in a dependency of the PSA in Bariloche. On April 17 he was arrested at Neuquén airport while trying to get on a commercial flight. Two days before, Texas Justice had sent an request for capture to Interpol against the businessman. He is accused of being part of an association dedicated to drug trafficking and money laundering.
Machado hired the lawyer Martín Segovia to carry out your defense in the extradition trial. In these days he was detained, he was able to talk to friends and family to whom he explained that the arrest is an error, because he would be collaborating with the investigation of the Texan prosecutor in exchange for benefits in the penalty, but that he would have had a discussion and came to Argentina, which caused the anger of the prosecutor, who asked him to stop him. Machado argues that it was involved because the mining investments in Guatemala did them through an armed trust in the United States, where the administrator, a woman named Debbie Mercer-Erwin, It would be the main defendant.

Before being detained, the businessman sent an email to investors who had put money in the gold and silver mine that exploded in Guatemala to explain that he had nothing to do with the issue of drug trafficking, but that he had made some mistakes such as falsifying signatures of some documents and that when they were the American agents to see them gave them their cell phone and computer to investigate it.
Today, from Bariloche, he hopes that his situation will be defined and could be imprisoned for several months.
Meanwhile, in Buenos Aires, José Luis Espert hopes to recover from a Covid box. News contacted him, but through a press advisor he said he was not going to answer because he was not yet fully recovered. When he returns to the ring, he has a priority: to recover a place in the liberal space and set aside dangerous companies.
