It increasingly appears that Arend Jan Boekestijn is being used by the talk show Pauw & De Wit for the opinionated Johan Derksen role, says TV critic Victor Vlam. “He’s not modest.”
Yesterday, half of the Pauw & De Wit talk show table consisted of gentlemen who we also regularly see participating in Today Inside: Arend Jan Boekestijn, Ron Keller and economist Jona van Loenen. The image fits in with the criticism that has been regularly leveled at VI lately, namely that the show needs to work on building an alternative guest list.
Eagle Jan Derksen
According to Victor Vlam, the question remains how long VI can continue to use the services of Arend Jan Boekestijn, because the TV critic has the strong feeling that Pauw & De Wit is increasingly using him for the Johan Derksen role, or the role of the opinion maker who talks about almost all topics.
He writes down X: “At Pauw & De Wit, Arend Jan Boekestijn seems to be increasingly used as a Johan Derksen-like figure. He speaks extensively on every subject as an omniscient sidekick: politics, nuclear weapons and Epstein. Possibly an attempt to compensate for the more boring Tim de Wit.”

Victor wouldn’t think it was such a crazy move. “As a VOLT supporter, Arend Jan has the color that matches that talk show. And as can be seen with VI, he is not too modest to speak without being asked.”
New Revu columnist Bart Nijman then: “Never too modest to know his limitations.”
Victor concludes: “No, definitely not haha.”
