As part of the investigation into Liam Payne’s death, text messages have emerged that the One Direction member allegedly sent before his death. According to the chats, Payne may have had contact with a sex worker before his balcony fall.

$5,000 for a meeting

According to messages published by Daily Mail and previously made available by Argentine journalist Mauro Szeta on his website VíaSzeta, the sender offered a supposed escort $5,000 to visit his hotel room. In the WhatsApp messages, which came from a phone registered in South Florida, the originator shared Liam Payne’s Instagram profile. He then wanted to know if the woman was interested in “playing.” The text continued: “I have all day… I’ll give you 5,000… US dollars… You come to the hotel, we’ll celebrate, just you and me.”

The sender, who could possibly be Payne, also asked if she wanted to bring the woman in the WhatsApp profile picture with her. The escort replied, “Okay, Noe [sic]”, until 7 p.m., $5,000 for both of us, we’re together all day.” The sender then agreed. However, with the condition that payment must be made by bank transfer.

Was Payne into sex and drugs before his death?

In addition to the text messages, there are also new statements from hotel employees, reports the Daily Mail. A receptionist at the hotel stated that Payne “strongly” asked specifically about cocaine. Another employee told of an encounter with the singer in which he also asked for drugs. When the employee refused his request, the pop star reacted angrily and called him “useless”. Whether drug abuse or other factors contributed to his fall and subsequent death is still under investigation.

Allegations against hotel employees

Payne died on October 16, 2024 after falling from the third floor of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires. The incident has led to a comprehensive investigation that has resulted in five people being charged. These included several hotel employees and the Argentine businessman Roger Nores, who was acquainted with the musician. The latter denies any involvement in the incident.
