As of April 1, 2026, the chairman of the Social-Economic Council (SER) Kim Putters will be reappointed for the statutory period of 2 years. The Council of Ministers decided this today, on the recommendation of the Minister of Social Affairs and Employment Hans Vijlbrief. At the same time, the other crown members and their replacements are also reappointed. In addition, 2 new crown members are appointed.
The SER consists of two-thirds members of employers’ and employees’ organizations and one-third of members appointed by the Crown. Crown members function based on their expertise as bridge builders between employer and employee members.

Karen Maas is Academic Director of the Impact Center Erasmus (ICE) and Professor Accounting and Sustainability at the Open University of Heerlen. She is also a member of it Sustainable Finance Lab.
Daniël van Vuuren is general director at SEO Economic Research and Professor of Social Security and Economics at Tilburg University. In the past, he was a member of the State Commission on Demographic Developments 2050 and head of public finance, labor, education and pensions and social security at the CPB.
