Fonda Sahla becomes a councilor of the Dutch Sports Council. The Council of Ministers has agreed to this nomination. The appointment starts with retroactive effect on April 1, 2025 for a period of four years.
Fonda Sahla has a background in politics and education. She started leading projects in her neighborhood and in the primary school of her children. She continued her social career as a councilor of the municipality of The Hague and then from 2021 to the end of 2023 as a member of parliament. In addition to her work as a columnist for the trade journal Zorgvisie, Mrs. Sahla is chairman of the National Network Inclusive Care and member of SER Top women.
The Dutch Sports Council is an independent advisory body that advises the government and both Chambers of the States General on policy and social issues about sports and exercise. The Dutch Sports Council currently consists of nine members and chairman Tom van ‘t Hek.
