Prof.dr.ir. HJ (Herbert) Bos has been nominated as a member of the Electoral Council as of 1 July 2023. The Council of Ministers has approved this nomination at the proposal of Minister Bruins Slot of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. Herbert Bos succeeds Ronald Prins, who has been a member of the Electoral Council since 2018.
Herbert Bos is professor of computer system security at VU University Amsterdam. In addition to his professorship, he co-leads the AMSec Research Cluster and the Computer Science department of the VU. He is also a member of the VU’s Cyber Security Steering Group.
Herbert Bos is one of the lead authors of the three editions of the National Cyber Security Research Agenda and co-founder and, until his appointment, board member of the Foundation Against Hackable Elections.
