mr. WAG Hillenaar will be the new mayor of the municipality of Maastricht. At the proposal of Minister Bruins Slot of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, the Council of Ministers has decided to nominate him for appointment. The appointment will take effect on 1 July 2023.
Mr Hillenaar (54 years old) is a member of the CDA. He was acting mayor of the municipality of Land van Cuijk until February 2023.
Annemarie Penn-te Strake is currently mayor of Maastricht.
