Dr. GM (Gerhard) van den Top will be the new mayor of the municipality of Hilversum. On the proposal of Minister Bruins Slot of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, the Council of Ministers has decided to nominate him for appointment. The appointment will take effect on February 16, 2022.
Mr Van den Top (60 years old) is not a member of any political party. He is currently dykegraaf of the Amstel, Gooi en Vecht water board.
Pieter Broertjes (PvdA) is currently mayor of Hilversum.
