mr. MP (Michiel) Boots becomes director-general of Economy and Digitization at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate. The Council of Ministers has approved the nomination on the proposal of Minister Bruins Slot of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The appointment will take effect on April 1, 2022.
Michiel Boots is since March 1, 2022 quartermaster and intended director-general Economy and Digitization at the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Before that, he was Chief Economist since 2019 and also Director of General Economic Policy at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate. Previously, he was adviser to the Cabinet of the Prime Minister, Ministry of General Affairs, and he held various positions at the General Treasury of the Ministry of Finance. He studied Dutch Law at Leiden University and completed a Master of Studies in Legal Research at the University of Oxford.
This appointment was made through the procedure for the top management group of the General Administrative Service.
