Frances Diepstraten becomes Deputy Secretary General (pSG) at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment. The Council of Ministers agreed to this on the proposal of Minister Rijkaart of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The appointment takes effect on November 1, 2025.
The PSG has a central position within the department, manages various staff and executive departments and is responsible for, among other things, organizational development, personnel policy, information policy, business operations and the National Cleaning Organization. The pSG also fulfills the role of owner for the Social Insurance Bank and, together with the Association of Dutch Municipalities, for the Information Services Netherlands Bureau.
Frances Diepstraten has been deputy inspector general at the Dutch Labor Inspectorate since September 2021. Previously, she was Deputy Director General of the Tax Authorities. She previously worked as Director of Financial and Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, Director of Information Technology at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and as Chief Director of Operations and Director of Finance and Control at the Ministry of Defense. She studied Dutch law at Tilburg University. She subsequently obtained a Master of Law to the University of British Columbia.
This appointment was made through the procedure for the top management group of the General Administrative Service.
