Apple Music and TV+ prices are rising

Prices are currently rising in almost all areas. Now one thing is certain: Subscribers will also have to pay more for Apple Music and Apple TV+ in the future.

Apple operates various streaming services. With Apple Music, customers can listen to unlimited music every month, while with Apple TV+ they can stream numerous series and films. If you want to book both in a bundle, you will find a corresponding combination offer with Apple One, which also offers access to the Arcade game subscription, to Fitness+ and iCloud+. So far, the monthly costs for the offers have been quite low compared to other providers. But now Apple has announced that the prices for Music, TV + and One will increase.

Apple Music and TV+ prices are rising

For the Apple Music music subscription, customers previously paid EUR 9.99 per month. With the price increase, however, the streaming service has increased in price to 10.99 euros. If you share access with your family and take care of up to five people, you have to pay 16.99 euros instead of the previous 14.99 euros.

Apple is not only raising prices for Apple Music, but also for the TV+ video streaming service. So far, the monthly fee of 4.99 euros was significantly lower than that of Netflix, Disney+ and Co. But that is now over, because the costs have increased by 2 euros to 6.99 euros per month. In the future, the company will charge EUR 16.95 for the Apple One combo offer instead of the previous EUR 14.95, and the price for family access will increase to EUR 22.95 per month (previously EUR 19.95). Those who have booked the premium subscription have to dig deep into their pockets at 31.95 euros.

The higher prices do not only apply to new Apple Music, TV+ or One customers. Even those who have already booked one or more of the services will have to pay the additional costs. In the US, the price increase is already active. In Europe, Apple is currently informing its customers about the price increase. The letters are expected to reach customers approximately 30 days before the new prices come into effect, so that they can react accordingly.

License costs drive up costs

Opposite to 9to5Mac An Apple spokesman justified the price increase for streaming services with higher license costs. In addition, Apple has continuously improved the services since their introduction. “We launched Apple TV+ at a very low price because we started with just a few shows and films. Three years later, Apple TV+ offers a comprehensive selection of award-winning and critically acclaimed series, films, documentaries, children’s and family entertainment from the world’s most creative storytellers.”
