Apple cleaned up its App Store in the past quarter: Around 439,000 apps were thrown out of the store as part of the App Store Improvement strategy. Reasons for this were a lack of business or data protection regulations and a too long time without updates. However, the move was not well received everywhere, with hobby developers in particular expressing criticism.

However, Apple products such as the iPhone could possibly contain more advertising in the future, because the Cupertino-based company apparently wants to push its advertising business. Not only would more advertising in the App Store be conceivable, but also ads in the maps, books and podcasts apps. In any case, Apple boss Tim Cook was recently extremely enthusiastic about the potential of the advertising platform. Apple TV+ could also follow other streaming services and possibly offer an advertising-financed subscription model in the future.

As usual, Apple did not reveal in the run-up to the event which products will be presented. The expectations of Apple fans are still high: the next generation of the Apple flagship will probably be presented with the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Pro. The Apple Watch Series 8 is also expected.

After the September keynote was held purely virtually for the past two years due to the corona pandemic, spectators should be able to gather again this time at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple campus. According to “Macworld”, numerous invitations came with a request to register for a seat in the Steve Jobs Theater. How much of the event will actually be held live is still unclear.

The motto of the Apple Keynote this year is “Far out” or in German “Next ahead”, the invitation is titled “Go for launch”. The Apple logo is also represented as a constellation on the event invitation. This could be a hint that Apple will present a satellite communication for the iPhone today. Allegedly there has been a team since the end of 2019 that is working on a corresponding function.

Two weeks ago, Apple officially invited to the event via Twitter and promised a “special Apple event”. Otherwise, no further tweets can be seen on the iPhone manufacturer’s Twitter channel – Apple is not expected to use the short message service for tonight either.
