One of the events that marked the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby played in the 31st week of the Trendyol Super League was Ederson’s aggressive attitude towards the referee and the VAR monitor after receiving a red card after the second yellow card, leaving his team with 10 men. While those images attracted intense reactions from the yellow-dark blue fans, the Brazilian glove published an apology message on his social media account.
In his post, Ederson said, “I apologize to the fans and my teammates for what happened in the derby. I do not agree with the red card decision and continue my criticism of the referee management; I think we were treated unfairly. While leaving the field, I made a sudden move towards the VAR cabin while my nerves were tense; this was something that should not have been done. I apologize again to the entire Fenerbahçe family.” he said.
