Apartments in the former Rabobank Diever

The old Rabobank building in Diever is being converted into an apartment complex. There will be eight rental apartments.

“For the middle and high segment”, says Ben Timmermans, one of the current owners. “We will leave the main building intact. It is a characteristic building in a special location”, he refers to the bank building on Peperstraat, diagonally opposite the Pancratius Church on the Brink.

Die Brink must also be spared by the new residents. “Residents can park on their own property, there is a parking lot behind the building where Rabobank employees used to park their car,” says Timmermans. “That means that the ‘can remains out of sight’, so it is not at the expense of the appearance of the Brink.”

According to Timmermans, not much will change on the outside of the building. “We want to bring back old elements, the appearance remains the same. People will recognize that one hundred percent again.”

The inside is well taken care of. The gas connections will disappear and make way for a geothermal system that heats and cools the building.

Timmermans expects construction to start after the turn of the year, and the apartments should be ready for occupancy in September next year.
