The accident happened around 9 a.m. at the Monnet flat on Europarei. The labor inspectorate is investigating where things went wrong and reports that the two victims were approachable and were taken by ambulance.
Ludwig Schoop lives in the Monnet flat and was just walking into the gallery at the time of the accident. The window cleaners were working on the windows on the top floor at the time. “They had secured the four feet on the ground and then went upstairs. At one point it started to wobble,” he describes. “The people up there were cleaning and one foot fell through the bricks. That’s how they fell.”
The aftermath of the accident was difficult for Ludwig. “I saw those two men screaming. I think they were in a lot of pain. They fell from ten floors.”
