Vienna (APA-ots) – Austria’s Financial Market Authority (FMA) informed
in the new edition of their consumer information series “Let’s talk
about money” on the subject of investment advice and about the various
Possibility to ask whether the consulting company or the
advisory person has the necessary authorization to
to provide investment advice.
“The FMA advises everyone who seeks advice on investing
definitely want to check if the one you selected
Company or the consultant has a corresponding approval
available”, said the Executive Board of the FMA, Helmut Ettl and Eduard Müller.
The FMA company database, the FMA intermediary query can do this
and the business information system can be used
In the case of investment advice, the financial situation, the
Investment goals and risk tolerance of the investor are defined. on
Basis of this, and after detailed presentation of all
Information, risks and costs, becomes an investment recommendation
delivered. Banks, securities firms and
Investment services companies are allowed to people in front of a
advise on investment decisions. But companies can too
Auxiliaries – so-called “tied agents” and
Securities brokers – use.
As of March 31, 2022, 1,870 people in Austria were registered for 46
Companies as tied agents, and 364 people
worked for 21 companies as a securities broker.
