The ANWR Schuh GmbH retail association is filling a key position. On Friday, the company, which is part of the ANWR Group, announced that Melina Gerstand will take over management of the Product business unit on May 1st.
In her future role, she will be responsible for “the strategic and operational development of the Product division”. The focus is on “expanding profitable goods receipts, optimizing purchasing and process structures as well as close cooperation with trading partners and suppliers,” according to a statement.
Until her promotion has now been announced, Gerstand was senior product manager at ANWR Schuh, among other things, responsible for “the key account brands, the kids theme world and the ANWR exclusive brands”. She previously gained experience in the industry at About You, Khujo and Onygo.
Désirée Orlowski, who managed the product division of ANWR Schuh herself before being promoted to managing director last year, explained the personnel decision. “The fact that we were able to fill the position with a proven expert from within our own ranks is a great advantage,” she explained in a statement. With “her strategic expertise, her market knowledge and her clear eye for profitable product ranges,” Gerstand will “significantly further develop the product division in the future,” said Orlowski.
