NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman reports that the NHL club Florida Panthers has appointed a Finnish forward Anton Levtchin unconditional waivers to the list. It means that the team wants to cancel the forward’s contract.

The winner of last season’s SM league points exchange signed a one-year contract with the Panthers last summer. Most of the season, the player has spent the farm series in the AHL, where he scored 8+9 in 35 games in Charlotte’s shirt.

He got a small chance to impress on the NHL side and played in two games there, but lacked power points. Many expected Levtchi to get into the rhythm of the NHL more strongly because he is the captain of the Panthers Alexander Barkov a longtime friend.

Levtchi will soon be free to find a new address for himself. He has the opportunity to return to Finland for this season, as the transfer window of the SM league does not close until February 15. Levtchi has only represented his parent club Tappara in the League.
