Borussia Dortmund is under massive pressure after a botched start to the year. Things now also seem to be simmering within the team.

Tense faces, wild discussions and a loud concert of whistles: Borussia Dortmund is getting into ever greater trouble in the Bundesliga. At the start of the second half of the season, BVB lost 2-0 against Eintracht Frankfurt – and thus got zero points from the first three competitive games in the new year.

So the nerves on the pitch were on edge on Friday evening. While coach Nuri Şahin quickly disappeared into the catacombs of the Frankfurt Arena after the final whistle, the Dortmund professionals tried to appease the fans who had traveled with them. But the reaction of the supporters was clear and clear: a loud concert of whistles.

As other TV images from the streaming service “DAZN” show, there was also friction within the team. BVB goalkeeper Gregor Kobel and central defender Waldemar Anton clashed. Captain Emre Can and national player Nico Schlotterbeck also discussed the matter with lots of gestures. What exactly the arguments in front of the camera were about remained unclear. Given the 90 minutes that have just passed, there will be some disagreements that need to be resolved.

While things are becoming increasingly uncomfortable for Şahin and his team, which is only two strong at halftime, Eintracht has consolidated its ambitions to take part in the Champions League. 33 points in the first half of the season were already a record – now Frankfurt coach Dino Toppmöller and his team have also made an impressive start to the second half of the season.
