Wessel Nijman is having a great season. The 25-year-old darts player from Uitgeest won the Euro Tour tournament in the Slovak capital Bratislava on Sunday. In the final, with a high average of 103.80 points, he left former world champion Rob Cross completely without a chance: 8-3.
Nijman was still a break behind at 2-1 in the final, but that turned out to be just a minor flaw. The Dutchman then won four legs in a row and only further expanded his lead.
Previously, Nijman had defeated Ross Smith in the semi-finals in a real thriller. At 6-6 he took victory with an impressive 161 finish.
For Nijman it is already his eighth tournament victory of the year. He was earlier this week for the sixth time in 2026 the best at a Players Championship. He also won a Euro Tour tournament in Göttingen, Germany this year. Nijman has climbed to fourteenth place in the world rankings due to his good performances.
