Two bicycles and a crush fence hang at the top in a stable stable on the intersection of the Spoorlaan with Stationsstraat in Drunen. Anyone who passes the roundabout looks up strangely. It is not the first time that a lost bike in the post provides surprised looks. Last year a bicycle was hung in exactly the same pole.
Anyone who has received the bikes and the crush fence at the top of the post is not clear, but the one must have been busy for a while. The signposting post is certainly five meters high. It remains a mystery whether someone is clambering in the post or whether a ladder or perhaps a platform has been involved.
In any case, it is a recurring phenomenon. In January 2024 a bicycle was hung in the same pole. Then the bike was removed after a few days, because the signs were easy to read and it did not cause any danger. This time the bikes have been there at least since Sunday and this Monday also the two -wheeler and the crush fence are still there.

The crush fence is partly over the plates that point in the direction of Drunen-Noord and Elshout. When the sun shines, the fence and the bikes provide shade on the plates. Whether that causes dangers, the municipality of Heusden is looking forward.
“Removing can take a few days.”
“It can take a few days for our contractor to remove the bikes and the crush fence. A platform is needed and it depends on the planning of our contractor when the bikes and the crush fence can be removed,” says a spokesperson for the municipality of Heusden on Monday.
The bike in the post yielded surprised responses to passers -by last year. “How is that possible, how do you manage that?”, Walkers André and Toos wondered at the time. It is not clear who was behind it last year.
The fact that there are now two bicycles and a crush fence in the post ensures an extra strange sight. Passers -by react in surprise and amused to the special phenomenon.
