Presenter Anni Ihamäki repeatedly uses a word that is considered contradictory in the world when presenting the properties of this summer’s Housing Fair in Oulu, which has already ended. Villa & shout at the Housing Fair –the program can be seen today on Nelose.
In the stories of Ihamäki, the main bedroom is sometimes called master bedroom in English. The expression has been questionable in the world for years. He has written about problematic issues, among other things House Beautiful -publication. It says the term is problematic because it is historically associated with slavery and implies dominance and ownership. The association with a white plantation owner who owns a dark-skinned slave labor does not belong in today’s master bedroom.
