The trio was 40 seconds ahead of the peloton where Lorena Wiebes won the sprint for fourth place ahead of Marianne Vos. World champion Van Vleuten is 49 seconds ahead of Longo Borghini and 53 seconds ahead of Ewers in the general classification.

On the penultimate climb, the Passo Montevacà, there was an attack by the American Ewers. She overtook Ilse Pluimers, the last remaining leader from the early breakaway and continued alone. In the descent there was a counterattack from Italy’s Silvia Persico, but she didn’t get a big lead.

Van Vleuten counterattacked Longo Borghini in the climb of the third category Strela. The two caught up with Ewers and the three of them rode to the finish in Borgo Val di Taro. In the sprint, the Italian was clearly the strongest. Lorena Wiebes won the sprint of the peloton ahead of Marianne Vos. On Sunday, Wiebes Vos was also finished too quickly.
