Cross-country skier Anne Kyllönen opens up about her health concerns on Instagram.

– A small update on how things are going, because I simply haven’t been able to update anything here for a long time, Kyllönen begins.

– I am already starting to slowly recover from bronchitis and my recovery from being in good shape has taken steps forward. Even skiing has already started to look like competitive skiing, Kyllönen updates, continuing:

– The other health indicators have also started to show more than red, so let’s hope that the body will take steps forward again in the coming weeks, and I will be able to enjoy the charm of the race pace for as many weekends as possible.

– As cliché as it sounds, you can appreciate many things in a different way. Again, so much has been seen and experienced that the limit of the experience bank is starting to be full, Kyllönen regrets.

In an interview with Iltalehti at the beginning of February, Kyllönen opened up about how a serious accident had happened in his family. Kyllönen had to take on a lot of responsibility for his parents’ company, which operates in the retail and wholesale trade of berries and vegetables.

Running a business and combining the everyday training of a professional athlete was quite a piece of cake for Kyllönen. Kyllönen, 38, is not currently part of the Ski Federation’s A national team.

– I did a long high-altitude camp, and I didn’t notice that my total load was too great, Kyllönen opened up about the challenges he experienced.

When the new season started, Kyllönen felt he was in trouble.

– Even though the sensations were strange, I thought it was a mess from the training season, and that’s why it didn’t work, he describes.

– Now you can say that you should have hit the brakes then, he adds.

Heart rate problems popped up.

– And the sensations of arrhythmia, Kyllönen adds.

– Night heart rates were really high and heart rate variability really low. There have been quite big problems throughout the season.

The problem turned out to be overfit.

– As classic as can be, Kyllönen announced.

Kyllönen competed last time in Kuopio in early January. This season, he has toured the Scandinavia Cup, which is the second highest competition level in cross-country skiing after the World Cup.
